چکیده
that eases the deployment of semantic search engines. Search engines are becoming such an easy way to find textual resources that we wish to use them also for multimedia content; however, syntactic techniques, even if promising, are not up to the task. With Squiggle we prove that Semantic Web technologies provide real benefits to end users in terms of an easier and more effective access to information. The effectiveness of our approach is fully demonstrated by real-world deployments available on the web.

Squiggle: a Semantic Search Engine for Indexing and Retrieval of Multimedia Content
Search engines are becoming such an easy way to find textual resources that we wish to use them also for multimedia content; however, syntactic techniques, even if promising, are not up to the task: future search engines must consider new approaches. Experimental prototypes of this search engine of the future are appearing. Most of them employs “smart machines” able to directly elaborate multim...
متن کاملSquiggle Med: Semantic Search for Medical Digital Library
I. INTRODUCTION Searching everything everywhere is becoming our habit when we need to find something. However, finding what we need is often a hard job. Current search engine technology is very good in finding complete Web pages, but it lacks the desired precision and recall when searching for multilingual resources such as within pan-european Medical Digital Libraries. For instance, searching ...
متن کاملQuery Architecture Expansion in Web Using Fuzzy Multi Domain Ontology
Due to the increasing web, there are many challenges to establish a general framework for data mining and retrieving structured data from the Web. Creating an ontology is a step towards solving this problem. The ontology raises the main entity and the concept of any data in data mining. In this paper, we tried to propose a method for applying the "meaning" of the search system, But the problem ...
متن کاملQuery expansion based on relevance feedback and latent semantic analysis
Web search engines are one of the most popular tools on the Internet which are widely-used by expert and novice users. Constructing an adequate query which represents the best specification of users’ information need to the search engine is an important concern of web users. Query expansion is a way to reduce this concern and increase user satisfaction. In this paper, a new method of query expa...
متن کاملExploring the influence of semantic data on the ranking mechanisms of search engines
The web has been evolving towards its Semantic future and, in turn, search engines (SEs) have been evolving to incorporate these changes. Current work probes on search engine ranking factors in a Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 context. To this end, we have created a headless crawler, LSHrank, which employs known search engine APIs, evaluates the results and explores the factors that affect the search engi...
